Le Mans Ultimate 1.4.0.2 patch: driver swap, setup, server, and VR fixes

Le Mans Ultimate 1.4.0.2 hotfix addresses race-start behavior in online driver swaps, multiple setup-application issues, hosted server UI, netcode disconnects, a physics parsing inconsistency, Race Watch incident selection, 2026 WEC calendar entries for Barcelona and Monza, track-limits point calculation, and OpenXR 1.0 VR compatibility.

cars

Le Mans Ultimate 1.4.0.2 is a small hotfix focused on online race flow, setup reliability, server behavior, and VR compatibility, with the official notes posted in Studio 397’s update announcement.

What changed

Online, driver swaps, and servers

  • Fixed a driver-swap issue where exiting the car and taking control before formation start could place the driver in the pit lane instead of on track for race start.
  • Fixed occasional cases where drivers could never start driving after a session change.
  • Fixed the hosted server screen not showing the cars selected by connected players.
  • Fixed clients not being disconnected when a server closes.

Gameplay and car setup

  • Fixed an issue where changing setup would sometimes not apply when pressing start driving.
  • Fixed being unable to modify setup changes in a race session if those changes were made in qualifying.
  • Fixed a physics inconsistency caused by a parsing error.

Race control, calendar, and penalties

  • Fixed the Race Watch screen so clicking an incident switches to the correct car.
  • Updated the 2026 WEC calendar entries for Barcelona and Monza.
  • Revised track-limits time-ratio contributions to reduce very high points from extremely short cuts.

VR

  • Updated VR to be OpenXR 1.0 compatible; the notes say it had previously only been 1.1 compatible, which caused issues with +XR on various headsets.

Known issues

  • In team events, rejoining a server can cause inaccurate watch-screen replay-bar data for fair share, stint, and lap information.
  • In OpenXR with cropped FOV, hidden area mask issues may occur; the workaround in settings.json is: "VR Enable Hidden Area Mask": false.

For league ops, we should brief teams on the remaining team-event rejoin display issue, retest setup workflows between qualifying and race, and update any VR troubleshooting notes for OpenXR users.
