Automobilista 2 1.6.9.81 live with fixes, AI tweaks, and DLC track access change

AMS2 1.6.9.81 adds crash and lobby/setup fixes, AI behavior tweaks, tire/visual corrections, and ends the free trial for Hungaroring, Historical Track Pt4 layouts, and Monza 2005 DLC content.

We’ve got a small follow-up update for Automobilista 2: the official 1.6.9.81 announcement says this build adds additional fixes and minor improvements, while also ending the free trial period for several recent DLC tracks.

What changed

Tracks

  • The free trial period has ended for Hungaroring, layouts from Historical Track Pt4, and Monza 2005; these are now restricted to owners of the respective DLCs.
  • Azure: AI braking into the tunnel-exit chicane was improved.
  • Hungaroring: AI performance around and exiting Turn 8 was improved.
  • Barcelona 1999 / 2001: fixed an LOD issue with flood light fixtures.
  • Jerez: LOD adjustments were made to some static objects.
  • Hungaroring: resolution for the flat apex curb cross section was improved.
  • Imola 2005: some floating static rescue vehicles were fixed.

Fixes

  • Fixed a CTD when selecting the F-V10 Gen3 class with a Speedway oval circuit active.
  • Fixed a CTD when resetting to defaults on the Session Selection Dialog with no preset enabled.
  • Fixed drivers being incorrectly disqualified on lap one if they had received a drive-through for speeding during formation or rolling starts.
  • Fixed Limited Setup not being correctly applied at lobby launch when hosting via the game client.
  • Fixed incorrect pit speed limit display and several missing or unlocalized HUD, menu, and audio-option labels.
  • Disabled the redundant Traction Control setup option for the Renault R28.

Physics

  • Fixed several tire visual issues, including wear not rendering with flatspots, motion blur affecting tires, tread shadow banding, triple-screen artifacts, and the modern Pirelli tire shine not wearing off correctly.
  • Tire friction threshold for smoke generation was further adjusted.
  • Minor soft-tire tread adjustments were made for multiple formula classes.
  • Lamborghini Revuelto: fixed front-left tire tread mapping.

Cars

  • Fixed tire edges drawing over car bodywork at glancing angles with Parallax Occlusion enabled.
  • Global AI passing and avoid distances were adjusted so avoidance routines trigger slightly earlier.
  • The global AI draft effect was adjusted.
  • F-V10 Gen2: single-car team entries were disabled to maintain an even 10/10 Bridgestone-Michelin split.

For league ops, we should verify DLC ownership before scheduling the newly restricted tracks and retest rolling starts, AI events, and lobby setup restrictions on the updated build.
