Automobilista 2 v1.6.9.9 is now live. Per the official release post, this update combines new DLC car content with continued V1.7 physics and AI revisions, wet-weather visual changes, and limited AI wet-line rollout.

What changed

Cars

  • Historical Endurance Pack Pt2 adds:
    • Lister Storm GTM and Saleen S7-R to GT1 2005
    • Spyker C8 GT2-R, Panoz Esperante GTLM, and TVR T400R to GT2 2005
    • Gillet Vertigo Streiff to GTR 2004
    • Maserati Grandsport to Maserati Trofeo
  • Free content added:
    • Milano 55 GT1 to GT1 2005
  • Reiza also says a large set of classes has already received full or advanced V1.7-era revisions, while others remain only partially revised or not revised yet.

Features

  • The new DLC content is temporarily free for all users during the initial release days.
  • Reiza notes the DLC store page should go live on Monday because Steam does not allow DLC releases on weekends.
  • UI & HUD changes are noted in the announcement.

Physics

  • General physics revisions for all classes remain in progress toward V1.7, targeted for Q3 2026.
  • v1.6.9.9 includes further tire, aero, and default setup revisions for the classes already advanced in that process.
  • Fuel tank position was revised for F-Classics, F-HiTechs, 2005 GT, and LMP cars.
  • The McLaren MP4/12 gained a missing default option for the intermediate compound.
  • Users with issues or imminent league races can stay on v1.6.9.81 via the Steam beta branch previousbuild.

Tracks

  • AI wet-line support has been added on selected layouts at Barcelona, Hungaroring, Imola, Interlagos, Monza 2005, and Spa, with more to come gradually before V1.7.
  • Wet and changing conditions also received visual updates, including lighting, shader, texture, and spray-particle adjustments.

Fixes

  • Fixed Indianapolis 2005 RC being mislabeled as Oval in German localization.
  • Fixed a small terrain gap at Barcelona.
  • Adjusted puddle splash sound effects and fixed some crowd and replay-related sound/visual artifacts.

For league ops, we should lock the intended build before race day, retest wet AI on the newly supported circuits, and review class eligibility if we plan to use the new mid-2000s GT content.
