Automobilista 2 1.6.9.2 adds AI, TAA, and DLC access fixes

AMS2 v1.6.9.2 is live with TAA improvements, oval and multiclass AI updates, minor physics and vehicle fixes, and a change that restricts certain bonus/DLC content to eligible DLC owners or bundles.

We’ve logged Automobilista 2 v1.6.9.2 as a follow-up fixes-and-improvements update. The official post also notes a content access change: the Racin’ USA Bonus Pack, Nürburgring Touristenfahrten, and Supercars Pt2 content is now restricted to owners of those DLCs or qualifying packs/bundles. What changed

Cars

  • DLC access rules were updated for some bonus and add-on content.
  • Minor tire tread adjustments were made across multiple classes, including P1, Ligier P4, Copa classes, Mini JCW, several F-USA/F-Classic/F-HiTech variants, F-3, F-Junior, Lotus 23, Group A, and Group C.
  • Revised engine inertia and crankshaft values for F-Classic and F-HiTech cars, including a fix for HiTech G1M3.
  • Stock USA Gen2 radiator cooling was increased.
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie KERS deployment longer than 1 second was fixed.

AI

  • AI blue-flag behavior was adjusted in multiclass racing so slower-class AI no longer slow excessively to let lapping cars through in listed classes.
  • Oval AI received further work, including Daytona and Pocono-specific updates plus broader calibration for Stock USA, F-USA, and other oval variants.
  • AI pit/garage behavior was improved to reduce collisions, loss of control, and getting stuck when leaving garages and navigating pit lanes.
  • Additional AI calibration passes were made for GT3/GTE, wet conditions for several classes, and simulated practice/qualifying times for Stock USA Gen1-3.

Graphics, UI, and general

  • TAA was updated with better vehicle application, less ghosting, reduced flicker, improved fence stability/clarity, and VR camera-movement fixes.
  • Player auto-fuelling is now disabled only in practice and qualifying; race-session auto fuel calculation remains.
  • TrueForce no longer behaves uncontrollably when first editing setup in Test Day.
  • Beta HUD pit stop timers were fixed, and short-name displays now use “Formula” instead of “F-”.

Tracks and vehicles

  • Track fixes landed for Barcelona, Kyalami Historic, and Spielberg Historic.
  • Vehicle-specific fixes include Stock USA livery/shadow/export items, GT3/GT4/Ginetta corrections, cockpit POV and driver animation adjustments, and spark threshold tweaks for F-Classic/F-HiTech cars.

We should audit league servers and entry lists for DLC eligibility, then retest any multiclass, oval, and pit-lane-sensitive combos before race day.

To users who might have observed a performance drop since the latest V1.6.9 release: we understand this could have been caused by the update adding the option to combine Supersampling AA with TAA, without that setting being properly reset in an existing user profile; TAA users who noticed a significant drop in performance (30%+) with no further changes to system or software since the last update are encouraged to check that Supersampling is indeed set to 'OFF' in the performance options screen if they haven´t done it already. We have made some notable additional improvements to TAA since V1.6.9.1, including better application to vehicles, reduced shadow flickering, improved fence resolution and stability as well as reduced ghosting on gratings. Further valuable improvements also to AI performance & overall racecraft on ovals, not just to the new Stock USAs but also all F-USAs and other tintops with oval variants also receiving a pass; worth reminder that as of this build, the only other classes that have designated short oval & speedway physics as well as AI adjusted for those tracks are Opala Stock 1986, Omega Stock 1999, Stock Car 2019, Stock Car 2020-2022 & Super V8 ; while take any class to race them on ovals, the experience will not be to the level of those listed above as of v1.6.9.2. Still on the AI front, we have addressed an issue with AI blue flag behavior in multiclass racing where AI from slower classes would tend to slow down too much on some tracks to let faster classes by, actually making them harder to navigate on some cases and turning them into easy prey for the player when racing in the slower classes; for now this fix addresses the issue in more conventional multiclass combos, more "creative" class combos will be hampered by it but that will also be addressed on the longer run. Finally, we have improved AI logic out of their pit garages a ll the way through the pit lane, addressing various issues of AI hitting objects, losing control or getting stuck in some of the trickier pit areas.
