Assetto Corsa EVO 0.5.1 hotfix updates MP, UI, and BMW setups

Assetto Corsa EVO’s 0.5.1 hotfix is a broad maintenance patch covering multiplayer flow, UI messaging, startup stability, graphics, and several car-specific fixes. The official notes are in the 0.5.1 patchnotes.

What changed

Multiplayer and online

• Improved server list refresh time and ping management.
• Fixed the lobby page becoming momentarily unresponsive after selecting a server.
• Fixed stutters in multiplayer sessions when another player joins, caused by FMOD audio bank loading.
• Fixed the message prompting players to stop the car to open the pause menu not appearing in Multiplayer.
• Fixed tyre compound information missing in the leaderboard for netcars.
• Fixed the “DRS closed” message appearing for all clients on a server instead of only the player car.

Stability, graphics, and replay

• Fixed the game not starting when a redistributable package is missing or corrupted.
• Fixed various graphics glitches on Nvidia and Intel hardware.
• AMD-specific issues are still under investigation.
• Fixed a potential replay incompatibility from 0.4 to 0.5.

Rules, track, and session behavior

• Fixed track cut gain evaluation sometimes being cancelled by the start of a new lap when the cut happens in the final corner.
• Added a collider to poles at the Nürburgring car park.
• Minor visual fixes were made for the new 0.5 tracks.

UI and tools

• Fixed current lap font overflow in the lap time widget.
• Removed the duplicated dampers notification and added clear text for in-car damper and differential adjustments.
• Fixed the pitlane menu overlay appearing twice in Special Events.
• Fixed FFB gain increase/decrease status messages not appearing on the HUD.
• Fixed in-session settings tiles changing size on hover.
• Added localization updates.
• Periods (.) are now allowed in UI text fields such as chat.
• Free camera now works in the paintshop, supports FOV modifier input, and can be reset with F5.

Cars and setups

• BMW M2 CS Racing and BMW M4 CSL received handling and setup updates.
• Audi SQ performance mode name was corrected.
• Wet tyres now default in the wet setup for the Dallara EXP.
• BMW M4 GT3 had an invalid setup fixed; previous 0.5 setups for that car should be deleted.
• M4 GT3 wet tyres are selected for the wet setup.
• BMW M2 and M8 received aero updates.
• Fixed erroneous LOD culling on the Toyota AE86 tuned steering wheel part.
• Fixed wheel LOD on the Caterham CSR.
• Fixed a minor UV error on the BMW M2 interior.

For league ops, we should delete saved 0.5 BMW M4 GT3 setups, retest wet presets and multiplayer joins, and confirm end-of-lap cut detection and replay compatibility in admin procedures.
