Assetto Corsa EVO 0.8.1 patch update
Update 0.8.1 focuses on AI pit assignment, race-start responsiveness, server and modding workflow fixes, a dynamic track restart crash, and several UI, rendering, browser, and performance fixes.
We’ve got a small but important 0.8.1 patch update for Assetto Corsa EVO, focused on fixes across cars, servers, modding, tracks, and general stability.
What changed
Cars
- Fixed pit location creation and assignment for AI cars.
- Fixed the car and dashboard becoming unresponsive during the race start countdown when start assist is enabled.
- Fixed garage cars always being saved because of performance index recalculation.
- Modding: cars are now read from the
Saved Games/ACE-Serverfolder. - Modding: fixed external liveries for garage sharing, and added a livery linker in car customization.
- Server-side: added a document folder to the Windows server build, revamped server/backend/client SHA data exchange with more UI information on missing cars, and fixed early performance validation rejection.
Tracks
- Fixed a crash when restarting during dynamic track recording.
Fixes
- Kyalami: fixed an incorrect palm impostor subsurface texture.
- Fixed thumbnails missing or being generated incorrectly in some situations.
- Fixed thumbnail generation while using the free camera.
- Reduced tree popping further on certain configurations.
- Fixed a server issue after 1000+ lifetime users where subsequent entry numbers could start around 600 and produce incorrect results.
- Fixed a crash during multiple multiplayer browser refreshes.
- Made ideal line assist initialization asynchronous as a possible fix for main-thread freezes.
We should update our server deployment folders, re-validate car and livery distribution paths, and run a quick multiplayer and AI pit-entry smoke test before race night.
