Project Motor Racing reworks Factory Driver Challenge into rotating two-week leaderboard events

Project Motor Racing has reimagined the Factory Driver Challenge as a rotating leaderboard format: one car, one circuit, one target, with events changing every two weeks and showcasing a broader spread of the sim’s car roster.

Project Motor Racing has announced a new format for its Factory Driver Challenge, shifting it from a fixed challenge setup to a cleaner leaderboard-based time-trial structure, according to the official announcement.

What changed

Cars

The Factory Driver Challenge now runs as a rotating “one car, one circuit, one target” leaderboard event designed to highlight the sim’s 100+ car roster. The announcement says the rotation will span modern GT cars, prototypes, hypercars, older high-powered machinery, and occasional DLC loaner content.

For the 1st–14th July 2026 set, the listed combinations are:

  • Ford Mustang GT3 — Sebring International Raceway GP
  • Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport — Northampton International
  • BMW V12 LMR — Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar — Daytona International Speedway
  • Dodge Viper Competition Coupe — Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
  • Mazda RX-7 GTO — Mount Panorama Circuit

Events

The Factory Driver Challenge format has been reworked into standalone leaderboard fights with no traffic or strategy variables. Each event runs for two weeks, and the full challenge lineup will rotate every two weeks going forward.

The announcement also frames each combo as testing different driving traits, including braking discipline, aero commitment, traction control, kerb usage, prototype pace, rhythm, and wall avoidance at Mount Panorama.

We should update any league messaging, hotlap side-events, and member reminders so they align with the new two-week challenge cadence and current car/track combinations.

  • The Factory Driver Challenge has been reimagined in Project Motor Racing. What was once a fixed challenge format is now a sharper, cleaner leaderboard fight. One car, one circuit, one target on a two-week rotation to best highlight the 100+ cars in the sim. Put your lap together and see where you stand against the rest, and maybe even the best! [img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45601812/5350f9c1d535ac69f1481107c73f6e1027d6674d.jpg"] These new events will run for two weeks and give drivers a rotating selection of cars from across the sim, from modern GT machinery to prototypes, hypercars, old-school monsters, cars that treat rear grip as a temporary arrangement, and even the occasional DLC-loaner. No excuses. No traffic. No “I was on a bad strategy”. No “Traffic sucks”! Just you, the car, the circuit, and the leaderboard that never lies! Factory Driver Challenges will now rotate every two weeks. Thank you for your support. We hope you continue to enjoy Project Motor Racing. Get out and post a time!
