Project Motor Racing 2.0.0.2 patch adds AI rework, throttle-response updates, and lobby stability fixes
Update 2.0.0.2 focuses on stability and performance, expands the revised throttle-response model to more car classes, reworks AI behavior and pace, and fixes several online lobby and UI issues.
We’ve got a Project Motor Racing patch that centers on stability/performance, broader throttle-response changes, and a substantial AI rebalance. The full details are in the official 2.0.0.2 notes.
What changed
Cars
- Custom setups from ModHub now load gear ratios correctly.
- Throttle response was updated across multiple cars/classes.
- Mazda MX-5 Trophy: AI behavior, physics, and performance were improved/rebalanced; setup-menu typo fixed.
- Porsche 992 Trophy: throttle response improved, default final drive made taller, and a new default setup added.
- N-GT: throttle response improved.
- AUS-v8 Ford Falcon V8: AI behavior and performance updated, class performance rebalanced toward real-world data, and throttle response improved.
- GT3: AI behavior, physics, and performance were improved/rebalanced.
Art & tracks
- Multiple vehicle visual updates and wheel-blur/lighting/AO fixes across several models.
- Nissan Motul Autech GT-R GT500 received a livery and UI thumbnail update.
- Rain visuals were improved.
- Daytona International Speedway and Takimiya Circuit received stability/performance improvements.
- Northampton pit crew spawn issue was fixed.
AI opponents
- AI speed and pace were rebalanced.
- High-speed cornering prediction was improved to reduce random braking.
- Pit-lane speeds were made more lenient on all circuits.
- Racing/pit line changes landed for Derby GP, San Marino, Brianza, Kyalami, and Daytona.
- Fuel margins and randomized fuel levels were adjusted in low-capacity scenarios.
- Weather-driven tyre pit strategy was improved.
- Brake-damage pit logic was corrected, and blue-flag behavior improved.
- Collisions are now disabled after the player finishes a race event.
FFB, UI, gameplay, and online
- Default FFB Gain changed from 0.8 to 0.7; loading files no longer overwrites FFB detail/boost.
- Hybrid-car setup-menu crash fixed.
- UDP telemetry sector and best-sector data corrected.
- Pit opponents no longer appear in radar.
- German/Russian localization fixes and a Career Mode trophy-image visual fix.
- Online stability/performance improved, including crash fixes around Custom Lobby browsing and race-session transitions.
- Lobby hosts can now change max player count after lobby creation, and more lobby states are shown by default in browser results.
For league ops, we should retest AI multiclass/offline events, verify lobby templates and max-player controls, and revalidate any telemetry overlays or tools that depend on sector data.
