cars

We’ve got a large RENNSPORT content-and-fixes drop here via the official patch notes. The rollout was scheduled for 09:00 CEST with roughly 3 hours of server downtime, and it combines new paid DLC, free platform content, AI changes, stability work, and lobby/admin tooling.

What changed

Cars

 • Added paid Touring Classics vehicles: Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI, BMW E30 M3, Mercedes-Benz C-Class V6 DTM, and Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II.
 • Added free vehicles: HWA EVO.R and Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
 • Reworked physics and setups for the Audi R8 LMS GT4 and BMW M4 GT4.
 • Fixed Porsche 911 GT1 windscreen stickers.
 • Corrected Hyundai N Vision 74 to be restricted to Race Mode.

Tracks

 • Added paid Hockenheimring Classic Revival.
 • Added free Thermalito, adapted from a community track.
 • Fixed Sebring multiclass grid spacing.
 • Closed Founder’s Track out-of-bounds pit entry holes.

AI

 • Tweaked collision avoidance, cornering logic, drivelines, race starts, class consistency, and pit lane behavior.
 • Adjusted AI to operate within the same limitations as human drivers.
 • Known issues remain: AI may leave the track in Hockenheimring Classic Revival’s first chicane, struggle around spun cars at Thermalito, run slowly uphill, and flip on sausage curbs.

Multiplayer and admin tools

 • Custom Contest hosts can now kick users before a session starts, and kicked users cannot rejoin that specific contest.

Stability and fixes

 • Fixed crashes tied to returning to menu from races, AI sessions, benchmark runs, and pit-lane-limit penalties.
 • UI/session fixes include garage filtering, leaderboard icons, grid count reporting, Quick Session class resets, missing stickers, player badge rendering, and several track/map display issues.
 • Added 378 liveries across free, paid, and competition-exclusive availability.

For league ops, we should update allowed content lists, brief stewards on the new pre-race kick control, and avoid relying on AI at Hockenheimring Classic Revival or Thermalito until those known issues are resolved.

 • Hello racers! We are excited to be back with a new expansion of RENNSPORT, featuring more content, bugfixes, and more! The deployment of the Touring Classics Part 1 DLC will occur tomorrow morning at 09:00 CEST, servers are expected to be unavailable for approximately 3 hours. We also have the 50 percent price cut coming out tomorrow , alongside the update. We are happy to deliver on what our community wanted the most: content. There’s a lot to unpack. So let’s dig into what this expansion holds!
The Return of Mechanical Violence
There is a specific kind of violence inherent in 90s touring cars. These were not software-assisted commutes; they were raw, mechanical, and uncompromising machines that demanded everything from the driver. Tomorrow, that intensity comes to RENNSPORT with the Touring Classics Part 1 expansion. The servers will become unavailable at 09:00 CEST tomorrow morning , and we expect the deployment to take approximately 3 hours time. Before we talk about steel, let’s talk about the barrier to entry. We are cutting the price of the RENNSPORT Standard Edition by 50 percent, effective tomorrow. The grid needs more cars, and the racing is better when the field is deep. Look for similar adjustments to the Deluxe Edition during the summer sale at the end of July. Expanding the roster and widening the gate is important to us, because it is important for our RENNSPORT community. Let’s talk about the details!
The Paid Experience: Hockenheimring "Classic Revival"
The centerpiece of this update is a digital reconstruction of the legendary Hockenheimring forest layout—the circuit purged by FIA safety mandates in 2002. Imagine the re-opening of this infamous sector was greenlit today, allowing the modern GP course to once again bleed into those terrifying, ultra-high-speed forest straights that defined decades of Touring Classics and Formula 1 history. We have effectively done just that. Here, no regulations or safety concerns hold back the intensity. We have meticulously blended the historic layout with our modern infrastructure; while it should be stated that this isn’t an exact replica of the original, the soul of the circuit remains untouched. It is long, lethal, and blind. You are essentially stepping into a time machine that ignores the compromises of the present. Treat the forest with respect, or it will claim you.
The Paid Armoury
These machines represent the peak of the Touring Classics engineering arms race. No assists, no fluff—just metal and intent. [*] Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II : The "Cosworth." It’s an exercise in flared aggression and mechanical feedback. If you can’t feel the grip through the wheel, you aren't pushing hard enough. [/*][*] BMW E30 M3 : The icon. The S14 engine is a scalpel, and the chassis balance is the industry gold standard. It is nimble, communicative, and will punish you if you get greedy. [/*][*] Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI : An Italian anomaly. With an advanced all-wheel-drive system and a ferocious V6, this car doesn't turn—it claws. You have to commit early and let the mechanical grip pull you through the chaos. [/*][*] Mercedes-Benz C-Class V6 DTM : A technological brute. With a high-revving V6 and aero that sticks the car to the asphalt, this was the pinnacle of mid-90s excess. [/*]
A Canvas for Competition: The Livery Expansion
We heard you loud and clear: you want the ability to express your identity on track. Lino has been working around the clock to deliver a massive visual overhaul to our vehicle roster. This update brings a staggering volume of new liveries to the platform: [*] Touring Classics Heritage: We are including 20 bespoke Touring Classics-inspired liveries across our four new touring cars, completely free for all owners of this DLC. [/*][*] RENNSPORT Cup Collection: We are adding 348 unique RENNSPORT Cup liveries across 29 different vehicles, available for 50 RENN$ each. [/*][*] Hall of Fame: We are also introducing 8 exclusive Hall of Fame liveries for our GT3 fleet, reserved for the elite few who prove their mettle by winning our official RENNSPORT leagues and events. [/*] But that’s not all, we have more stuff coming in this expansion, let’s move on to the free stuff that we’ve added to The Touring Classics Part 1!
The Free Expansion: Thermalito & New Iron
We are also opening the doors to Thermalito. Originally a community mod by DDF Racer, we have partnered with Nukedrop to polish this circuit into the official RENNSPORT fold. It lacks the laser-scanned clinical perfection of our main tracks, but it compensates with pure, technical flow. It’s a scrappy, honest playground that demands precision over horsepower. [*] HWA EVO.R : A modern nod to the Touring Classics spirit, born to conquer the Green Hell. A modern interpretation of the 190E. [/*][*] Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport : A mid-engine lesson in balance. It provides a modern, high-downforce contrast to the twitchy legends of the 90s. [/*] [previewyoutube="KTNpjeXh9Yk;full"]
The Evolution of the AI
While we continue to work on the AI, Rikard, Daniel, and the engineering team have made adjustments to the AI in the latest build. We aren't calling this a "new iteration" yet, but the difference on track is noticeable. Our focus has been on refinement, and making the AI drivers feel like a coherent part of the race, continuing our improvements to the single player experience. The AI driving logic has been tweaked across these categories: [*] Collision Awareness : The AI now takes greater consideration to avoid contact with both human drivers and their fellow AI competitors. [/*][*] Cornering Logic : They are better at calculating braking zones and trajectory through curves, resulting in a cleaner, more fluid line and fewer unnecessary spin-outs. [/*][*] Driveline Discipline : The field now utilizes the racing lines with higher fidelity, keeping them firmly on the track and in the battle. [/*][*] Race Starts : We have tweaked the launch logic to get cleaner, more professional starts. [/*][*] Performance Balance : We have tightened the AI’s physical constraints so they now operate within the same mechanical limitations as the player: no more ignoring the physics of the track. [/*][*] Cross-Class Consistency : Performance parity has been leveled across all vehicle classes. [/*][*] Pit Lane Professionalism : The AI now navigates pit entry, exit, and lane speed limits with significantly improved behavior. [/*]
The Why
We chose this Touring Classics era because it was the last time the driver, not the software, dictated the outcome. These cars are loud, they are twitchy, and they are unforgiving. If you get greedy, the forest or the gravel will humble you. We are adding content and expanding the technical playground. By cutting the entry price in half, we are opening the garage doors to a wider field of drivers. Whether you are hunting apexes at the Hockenheimring Classic Revival or finding your rhythm in the Cayman at Thermalito, this is a test of mechanical sympathy and raw commitment. The machine park is growing, the pricing is more accessible, you have more options to visually customize your car, the single-player experience has improved, and the grid is waiting. The only thing missing is you in the driver’s seat. // RENNSPORT
Technical Changelog: Touring Classics Update
We have deployed a comprehensive update to RENNSPORT, bringing a massive influx of new content, critical stability fixes, and our latest iteration of AI driving logic.
