Project Motor Racing 2.0.0.0 update adds new UI, online anti-cheat, and physics revisions
Update 2.0.0.0 brings a full UI redesign, Career Mode changes, anti-cheat and Ranked Online adjustments, ECU/FFB widgets, and broad handling, tyre, AI, circuit, audio, and stability updates.
We’ve got the main changes in Project Motor Racing’s 2.0.0.0 patch from the official update notes. This is a broad update touching UI, online systems, Career Mode, handling, and several class-specific vehicle revisions.
What changed
Cars, physics, and handling
- New tyre models were added for GT, GTE, 992 Trophy, N-GT, and MX-5 Trophy.
- Chassis and aero were rebalanced in GT, GTE, 992 Trophy, and N-GT, with BoP improvements in GT and N-GT.
- New default setups were added across GT, GTE, N-GT, 992 Trophy, 964 Trophy, and MX-5 Trophy.
- The Mazda MX-5 Cup was rebuilt in key areas including aerodynamics, differential, and tyres.
- Class-specific drivability changes include TC response in LMDh, throttle/turbo work in Group C, GTO, and Group 5, plus controller steering response updates in several classes.
- In 992 Trophy, TC and ABS now work in Authentic assists.
Online and multiplayer
- Ranked Online now includes anti-cheat measures, a minimum License Points requirement, and an adjusted License Test with new times and layout.
- Multiplayer also received improved ghosting, collision detection, session flow support, backend incident-reporting support, and fixes for EPIC access and lobby removal issues.
- The License Points system was refined, and all car classes including DLC are planned for Ranked Online from 1 April.
UI, gameplay, and tools
- The entire UI was redesigned, with a new Driver Profile, reworked car selection, tooltips, loading progress, and a new intro cinematic.
- New ECU and FFB widgets were added to the HUD; engine mapping in the ECU widget currently only works in LMDh cars.
- Setup save/delete handling was improved, and a few gameplay issues were fixed, including invalid laps after restarting sessions.
AI, circuits, visuals, audio, and performance
- AI opponents were rebalanced, with behavior and racing-line updates on multiple circuits.
- Circuits received art, foliage, replay camera, grass, and layout-specific fixes, including Sebring School Circuit and Daytona.
- Lighting and weather presets were reworked, with improved parity between PC and consoles.
- Performance and stability were improved overall.
- Audio changes include a new Race Engineer and Spotter, new toggles for both, and updated effects for LMDh cars and cobbled surfaces.
For league ops, we should validate class balance, refresh shared setups, and brief drivers on new Ranked Online requirements and Authentic-assist behavior before race night.

- Update 2.0 for Project Motor Racing is here. And with it comes a wide range of new features, a new User Interface (UI), reworked Career Mode elements, integration of anti-cheat systems for online, and a substantive evolution of handling and tyre models.
A Clearer, Faster Interface
The entire UI has been redesigned with clarity and speed in mind. Navigation across race weekends, car selection, and championships is now far more intuitive. New, too, are contextual tooltips throughout the UI which will prove particularly useful around making your own setups for cars and setting up the Force Feedback (FFB) systems. In addition, the car selection screen has been reworked to include more information about each car.
Stronger Online Racing
Multiplayer has been worked on with structure and fairness at its core. Update 2.0 introduces improved anti-cheat systems, better session flow, and backend support for incident reporting. The License Points system has also been refined, encouraging cleaner racing and supporting a more competitive environment. Additionally, from 1 April, Ranked Online will feature all car classes in PMR, including DLC.
A Career with Direction
With Update 2.0 Career Mode gets a massage. It’s no longer just a loose sequence of events—it’s now more of journey built around growth, survival, and achievement. Players build toward a long-term racing legacy and new to the mode comes: real-world sponsors (such as Liqui Moly), improved event messaging and presentation, podium ceremonies, trophies, and a new endpoint to your career. Working alongside experienced sim racers, dedicated test drivers, and sim racing developers, the focus has been to make the cars communicate more clearly, evolve the tyre model into something that feels and drives far more authentically, and leaning into authentic car characteristics. Building and evolving from the tyre model introduced in previous updates for the GT3 and GT4 , Update 2.0 extends this to the Porsche 992 Cup, GT, GTE, and N-GT class. N-GT has the most evolved tyre and should serve as the reference point for the future of PMR. Further rollout across additional classes will follow in upcoming patches. Also rebuilt, from the differential to suspension and tyres, is the Mazda MX-5 Cup.
Deeper Insight: The ECU Widget
Update 2.0 also introduces the ECU Widget — a real-time telemetry system available on your HUD. It visualises all sorts of vitals: tyre load and weight transfer, aerodynamic balance, drivetrain power delivery and a whole lot more. Fuel usage and stint strategy is also available via this widget. Please note: the portion of the ECU Widget, engine mapping, is currently only functional in LMDh cars. We will make this function compatible with other cars in a future update. Alongside it, the new FFB Widget provides a deeper view into force feedback behaviour, helping you fine-tune your setup with greater precision.
