rFactor 2 hotfix updates join flow, competition signup, and pit/track-limit logic
This hotfix adds missing-content install and store-basket shortcuts, relaxes Competition System signup requirements, and fixes pit access, track-limit detection, graphics, and audio issues.
We’ve logged the unversioned rFactor 2 Q1 2023 Hotfix #2, published March 2, 2023. Studio 397 lists Main Build 10664585 and Dedicated Build 10664583 in the official hotfix notes.
What changed
Features
- Build IDs: Main Build 10664585; Dedicated Build 10664583.
- Competition System: The “open cart” button was replaced with a button that takes users to the UI store basket page for required purchasable content.
- UI: Added an “install missing content” button on the server join error page to install missing or uninstalled store content.
Cars
- Competition System: Drivers can now sign up to a competition if they own at least one paid car and track used in that competition, or if the competition uses a free car and track.
Tracks
- Track Limits: Pit lane detection is now disabled when no boundary is set on the track.
- Track Limits: Fixed some cases where an illegal pit exit was not penalized.
Fixes
- General: Fixed being unable to pit when no boundary is set on the pitlane.
- Graphics: Fixed IBL Water Shader not rendering in Specular Mappers.
- Fixed blurry cameras when shadows are disabled.
- Fixed missing audio samples in moddev.
For league ops, we should verify custom track boundary definitions and pit-exit penalties, and update driver comms so members use the new missing-content install flow before race day.
