EA SPORTS WRC details 2024 Season Expansion gameplay changes

We’ve got a gameplay-focused update on how EA SPORTS WRC will handle its 2024 content, with mode-specific rules and access details now clarified in the gameplay deep dive announcement.

What changed

Features

• 2024 season events in the WRC class will use the new real-world points system introduced this year.
• New Career saves started after October 8 begin directly in the 2024 calendar.
• Existing Career saves continue their current 2023 season first, then switch to the 2024 calendar, events, and opponents in the following season.
• In Quick Play Multiplayer, if the host owns the 2024 Season Expansion and selects a DLC location, all players get temporary access to that location for that event.
• Moments will include daily challenges based on key events from the current season.
• Junior WRC adds the Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo (2024).
• Two new locations are being added: Rally Poland and Rally Latvia.

Cars

• The 2024 Season Expansion adds the official 2024 cars, drivers, liveries, and locations from the FIA World Rally Championship season.
• In Championship Mode, players can race as and against up to 52 real 2024 drivers and crews across WRC, WRC2, and Junior WRC.
• In Career, players can use 2024 cars alongside historic cars from the base game.
• In Time Trial, Clubs, and Quick Play, 2024 cars can race against 2023 cars in their respective classes, with unified leaderboards in the main multiplayer modes.
• In Clubs, players without access to 2024 expansion stages will skip those events if they appear in a championship calendar.
• The expansion also brings five new cars.

Fixes

• Codemasters says full patch notes are still coming, including bug fixes and tweaks that will also benefit base-game players.

For league ops, we should confirm whether our Clubs calendars include expansion-only stages, since non-owners will skip those rounds even though Quick Play lobbies can temporarily grant event access.
