The 90-Day Trial: How It Works

Most free trials last 14 days. Ours lasts 90. We believe you need a full season to evaluate a league management platform — not a couple of weeks.

Racey Team

The standard SaaS free trial is 14 days. Some generous companies offer 30. We offer 90.

This is not because we are exceptionally generous (although we would like to think we are decent). It is because 14 days is genuinely useless for evaluating a league management platform.

Why 14 Days Does Not Work

Think about how a sim racing league operates. A typical season runs 8-12 weeks. Race nights are weekly or biweekly. You set up a season, build a schedule, open registration, run events, handle protests, manage standings, and eventually crown a champion.

Now try to evaluate whether a league management platform handles all of that in two weeks. You cannot. In 14 days, you might get through initial setup and two race nights — if your schedule cooperates. You have not tested the stewarding system because there have not been enough incidents to file protests. You have not seen whether the standings calculations hold up over a full season. You have not experienced what happens when a driver joins mid-season or when you need to apply a retroactive penalty.

A 14-day trial gives you just enough time to see the UI and not enough time to know if it actually works for your league.

What You Get During the Trial

The 90-day trial gives you full access to every Pro feature:

  • Unlimited scoring presets — F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA/WEC, Oval Weekly, Road Weekly, GT3, Heat+Feature, plus fully custom configurations
  • Stewarding system — blind review, independent voting, structured penalties, precedent tracking, appeals
  • Broadcast overlays — 6 overlay types with real-time SSE updates, ready for OBS
  • Payments — Stripe Connect integration with zero commission
  • Full data export — CSV and JSON exports of all your league data
  • Team management — driver rosters, team standings, captain permissions
  • Season management — rounds, schedules, track configurations, weather settings

There is nothing held back. You are not using a limited demo — you are using the real product.

Trial Limits

To keep things sustainable, the trial does apply two soft limits:

  • 2 leagues — enough to run your main league and a test league, or two separate series
  • 3 seasons per league — enough for a full season, a preseason test series, and a backup

These are narrower than the full Pro plan (which has no limits), but they are wide enough for any reasonable evaluation. If you are running more than two leagues simultaneously, you already know you need a dedicated platform and the trial has done its job.

What Happens When It Expires

This is the part most platforms get wrong. Many trials end with a hard cutoff: your data disappears, your access is revoked, and you get an aggressive email campaign pushing you to buy.

We do not do that. When your 90-day trial expires:

  • All your data stays exactly where it is. Seasons, results, standings, protests, rulings — nothing is deleted.
  • You can still view everything. Drivers can see their results. You can browse standings and past seasons.
  • You can export everything. Full CSV and JSON exports remain available on every tier, including Free.
  • You cannot create new content. New seasons, new leagues, and new scoring configurations are locked until you upgrade. This is what we call a "soft lock."

The soft lock is designed to be fair. We are not holding your data hostage. We are not deleting your work. We are simply saying: if you want to keep using the advanced features, it is time to pay for a plan.

How to Upgrade

From any page in the dashboard, you will see a banner when your trial is expiring or has expired. Click it, pick a plan, and you are done. Your existing data, settings, and configurations carry over. There is no migration, no re-setup, no disruption.

Monthly plans start at $9.99 for Pro. Annual plans save you 34% ($79/year). And if you catch our launch offer, founding members get locked-in pricing for life.

Why 90 Days

We picked 90 days because it is long enough to run a complete short season from start to finish. That means you can:

  1. Set up a league and configure scoring
  2. Open registration and collect entries
  3. Run 8-10 race events
  4. Handle protests and stewarding
  5. See final championship standings
  6. Evaluate whether the platform saved you time

By the end of 90 days, you will not be guessing whether Racey works for your league. You will know, because you will have used it for an entire competitive season. That is the only honest way to evaluate a tool this integral to your community.

No credit card required. No catch. Just 90 days to run your league and see if we have built something worth paying for.
